On Friday 5th May 2017, Broadstairs Business Club members, business people, associates, friends and family met at North Foreland Golf Club, Broadstairs for the inaugural Broadstairs Business Club Charity golf day in aid of East Kent Independent Dementia Support (EKIDS).Inaugural Charity Golf Day
One of the Broadstairs Business Club members, Ian Lodge of Broadbiz Web Services very much drove the idea from start to finish with the day taking place at the wonderful North Foreland Golf Club over 18 holes in a Stableford format and yellowball competition.
There were many winners on the day taking home a variety of prizes with the overall winner being Martin Houldin from Gap In The Market on Broadstairs High Street.Local Business & North Foreland GC Helping Charity
With representation from Oakwood Homes, Thanet Wanderers RUFC, Oakwood Homes, SAMS Ltd., Westwood Scaffolding, Elgate, Morgan Jones and Guesthouse Broadstairs, a total of 38 players took to the course.
North Foreland Golf Club also very kindly reduced their fee by £10 per player to allow us to raise more money for charity. Our thanks goes out to North Foreland GC.Donations, Raffle & Auction
Much of the money raised was through the green fees that the golfers paid and that was topped up with some fines, a raffle and auction after the evening meal. That took the total to £929 and the final £71 was added by Right at Home (East Kent) to make up the £1000.
All proceeds were in aid of EKIDS and pictured right above is Ian Lodge of Broadbiz presenting the cheque to Janet and Janet from EKIDS.
